Frequently asked questions
Short answers about connecting sepiace, how it remembers and forgets, your data, and pricing.
What is sepiace?
sepiace is long-term memory for AI agents, provided as a remote MCP server. Your agent passes one natural-language sentence, and sepiace decides whether to remember, recall, or forget. It returns only memory text, with no IDs, dates, or scores.
How do I connect sepiace to Claude Code?
Run npm create sepiace in your terminal. It finds Claude Code and other clients on your machine, connects the ones you choose, and walks you through signing in. You can also add the endpoint by hand, as shown in the docs.
Which clients does sepiace work with?
sepiace works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, and OpenCode, which npm create sepiace sets up for you. In Claude, you can add it as a custom connector if your plan allows it. Any other client that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP with OAuth can connect to the endpoint URL.
What does my agent send to sepiace?
Your agent sends one sentence in plain words, such as “Remember that I prefer pnpm over npm.” The memory tool takes only that sentence. The server decides the operation, so the agent never builds structured arguments.
Does an LLM rewrite or summarize my memories?
No. The text of each memory is cut only from the sentences you pass in, and no LLM paraphrases, summarizes, or adds to it. Memories stay in the language you wrote them in.
Does sepiace work in Japanese and other languages?
Yes. sepiace keeps each memory in the language it was written in, so a Japanese conversation is stored in Japanese and is not translated into English. KiokuBench v0.1 measured this in English and Japanese, and none of sepiace's memories were written in a different language from the conversation.
What happens when a fact changes?
sepiace replaces the old version of the fact. When a new sentence mentions only part of a fact, such as a new time for the same appointment, sepiace keeps both sentences so that the rest of the fact is not lost.
What happens when I ask sepiace to forget something?
sepiace removes what you named, and from then on it never appears in recall or search. The removed content is kept as a logically deleted record and is physically deleted when you request full deletion. If it is not clear what should be forgotten, sepiace forgets nothing.
Do memories fade over time?
Yes. Each memory’s score follows the FSRS forgetting curve and is computed when it is read. Memories that go unused become harder to recall, and each recall makes them stick.
What is dreaming?
Dreaming is the daily tidy-up of memories. Once a day, sepiace gathers sentences that ended up scattered back into the memories where they belong. It does not rewrite sentences while doing so.
Can other users see my memories?
No. Memories are kept separately for each user, and every database query and every vector search includes the signed-in user’s ID as a condition.
Where is my data stored?
Accounts, memories, and processing records are stored in Cloudflare D1, and vectors in Cloudflare Vectorize. The model that judges each request runs through OpenRouter. The privacy policy lists every external service and what each one receives.
Is my data used to train AI models?
Your data is used only to train and evaluate the sepiace judgment network, which decides whether to store, recall, or forget. Training runs on the operator’s own systems, no data is provided to third parties for it, and your data is not sold or used for advertising.
Can I store passwords or API keys in sepiace?
No. Do not ask your agent to remember passwords, API keys, or other secrets, or sensitive personal information about other people. Memories contain whatever you or your agent send.
How much does sepiace cost?
sepiace has one plan, Personal, at $9 a month with 1,000 credits each month, which is about 300 saves. Looking up and forgetting use less than 1 credit each. You can buy 1,000 more credits for $9, and they do not expire. Your first month is free.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. When you sign up, you can use Personal for 30 days at no charge, and no card is needed. If you choose a plan during that month, billing starts when the free month ends.
What counts as a request?
Each call to the memory tool counts as one request, whether it remembers, recalls, or forgets. One request is one natural-language sentence.
How is sepiace different from Mem0 or Supermemory?
On KiokuBench v0.1, sepiace left no content it was asked to forget and kept an old version for 2% of changed facts. Mem0 kept every old version and every forgotten item, and Supermemory stored about 80% of Japanese input as English memories. KiokuBench was designed and run by the team that builds sepiace.
Can I run sepiace on my own server?
sepiace is provided as a hosted service at hi.sepiace.io. For a dedicated environment, see the Team / Enterprise plan.
Who operates sepiace?
sepiace is operated by Arata Ouchi, doing business as Original SIN Architecture. It is currently in beta.
How do I delete all of my memories?
Email support@osa.xyz to request full deletion. After confirming your identity, the operator physically deletes all of your memories, including logically deleted ones, along with your vectors and processing records.
